What happens if my invitee refunds within 60 days

VIP upgrades have a 60-day refund window. If your invitee uses it, the commission gets cancelled. This article explains exactly what happens.

The flow

  1. Day 0: Your invitee upgrades to VIP. Commission created → Pending. $100 in your Pending tile.
  2. Day N (somewhere between 1 and 60): They request a refund.
  3. The refund is processed by the team. The commission auto-changes status from Pending to Cancelled.
  4. Your Pending tile drops by $100.
  5. The invitee row on your dashboard now shows “Cancelled” with a brief note.

You don’t lose anything you’ve already been paid

Refunds only cancel commissions in the Pending state. Once a commission has been moved to Eligible (60 days passed) or Paid (money sent), it’s locked in. Refunds after that point don’t claw money back from you.

Why this is the safest model for connectors

The 60-day hold means the platform absorbs all refund risk. You never have to send money back. Worst case for you is a Cancelled commission you weren’t going to spend yet.

Why do invitees refund?

Common reasons in our experience:

  • Misjudged the time commitment — they signed up planning to engage but life got busy
  • Tier mismatch — VIP was more than they actually needed; they downgrade to Pro instead
  • Discovered a feature was Pro+ only and decided VIP wasn’t worth it
  • Genuine product issue — rare, but happens

Will I be told why?

Not by default. Refund reasons are between the invitee and the team. We don’t share them with the connector to protect the invitee’s privacy.

What if I think a refund is wrong?

If you have reason to believe a refund was processed in error (someone refunded then immediately re-upgraded, for example), contact support. We can re-create the commission in cases where the refund clearly didn’t apply.
