The Smile Channel pays affiliate commissions through PayPal, Wise, or bank transfer depending on what works best for your country. This article covers each method.
PayPal
The default for US-based members and most international ones. Fast (usually arrives within a few hours), reliable, and PayPal handles most currency conversions automatically.
You’ll need a PayPal account associated with the email you provide for payouts. The team will email you to confirm the destination email before sending the first payment.
Wise
Best for non-US members who want better exchange rates than PayPal offers. Wise has lower fees and clearer pricing for cross-border transfers.
You’ll need either a Wise account or a Wise multi-currency account email/handle. The team confirms before sending.
Bank transfer
For larger payouts ($500+) or members in countries where PayPal/Wise aren’t well-supported, direct bank transfer is available. Slower (3-5 business days) but no platform fees.
You’ll need to provide bank details (account number, sort code or routing number, IBAN if applicable). Coordinate with support to set this up.
The team typically asks for your preferred payout method when your first commission becomes eligible. Once set, it’s used for all subsequent payouts unless you ask to change it.
Currency
Commissions are denominated in USD. Conversion to your local currency happens at the payment processor (PayPal/Wise) at their current exchange rate. Bank transfers handle conversion at your receiving bank’s rate.
Fees
Most fees are absorbed by The Smile Channel. PayPal’s fixed fee + percentage is paid by us, not deducted from your commission. The exception: if your bank charges incoming transfer fees, that’s between you and your bank.
What if I don’t have PayPal or Wise?
Talk to support. We’ll figure out a working method. Bank transfer covers nearly every country.
