I Opened This Book and Accidentally Became a Functional Human. I picked up Conversation thinking it would politely suggest I “listen more” and “make eye contact.” Instead, it quietly dismantled my entire approach to talking to people. Somewhere between the pages, I stopped monologuing in group settings, started noticing other humans exist, and—most shocking of all—people started responding to me like I’m not a broken radio stuck on one station. I don’t know what kind of conversational sorcery Kenny Rochon III put in here, but I’m now having actual back-and-forth exchanges instead of speeches no one asked for. Slightly unsettling. Weirdly effective.
