Linking books to Reader Leaderboard reviews

When other members read and review your book through the Reader Leaderboard, those reviews appear on your profile. This article explains how that connection works.

How linking happens automatically

When you add a book to your profile, the system creates a record that the Reader Leaderboard can match against. When a reader submits a review, they pick which book they’re reviewing from a list — your book appears in that list, they pick it, and the review gets linked.

You don’t have to do anything special. Just adding the book is enough.

Where reviews appear

  • On your profile page — under each book, in chronological order (newest first)
  • On the Reader Leaderboard — the reader who wrote it gets points for the review
  • On the reviewer’s profile — under their “Reviews I’ve written” section

What if a review is wrong?

If a review contains factual errors or is clearly malicious, contact support. We don’t remove negative reviews just because they’re negative — but we’ll act on errors or abuse.

How to encourage reviews

  • Mention your book on social media with a link to your profile
  • Email your readers’ list with a “if you’ve enjoyed this book, would you leave a review on The Smile Channel?” ask
  • Submit reviews of OTHER members’ books — the community tends to reciprocate

What if reviews appear under the wrong book?

This shouldn’t happen normally — readers pick the specific book they’re reviewing. But if you spot a mismatched review, send it to support and we’ll re-link or remove it.
