Your public profile is what visitors, event organizers, and other members see when they look you up. This article walks through what’s on it and how it’s built.
The URL
Your profile lives at thesmilechannel.com/leaders/your-name/. The slug after /leaders/ is generated from your name when you first sign up. You can edit it in Settings if needed.
What appears on the profile
- Header: photo, name (with verified ✓ if applicable), professional title, location, role badge if assigned
- Bio: long-form paragraphs introducing who you are
- Books: each book you’ve added, with cover, title, and store link
- Episodes: podcasts, talks, panels you’ve appeared on
- Reviews: any reviews readers have left of your books
- Social links: a row of platform icons (LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.)
- Booking / contact CTA: prominently placed if you’ve added a booking link
How sections re-order based on what you have
The page layout adapts. If you have books but no episodes, books appear first. If you’re a speaker with bookings open, the contact CTA stays prominent throughout. If you’ve added video content (YouTube links in episodes), those preview thumbnails get prime placement.
The public profile doesn’t show your tier, billing details, earnings, or any private metadata. Only your tier-related features (One Sheet button on Pro+, custom domain, etc.) are visible.
Is the profile indexed by Google?
Yes. Profiles are public and indexed by search engines, which is the whole point — when someone Googles your name, your Smile Channel profile shows up in results.
Can you preview before publishing?
Your profile is always live. Edits show up after you save. If you want to make significant changes without disrupting the live page, do them in one sitting and save once. There’s no “draft” mode currently.
