One of the highest-value benefits of speaking at events is that the recording becomes evergreen content. This article explains how replays work.
Where replays live
Three places typically:
- The event’s replay page — accessible to event attendees and Smile Channel members
- Your Smile Channel profile — added as an episode under your name
- The Smile Channel media archive — searchable across all past events
How long replays stay available
Indefinitely. Once published, an event recording typically stays online forever. We’re not in the habit of removing content unless there’s a specific reason (legal request, speaker request, content issue).
Who can watch
Depends on the event:
- Public events: anyone with the link, after a brief registration
- Members-only events: any logged-in Smile Channel member
- Tier-gated events (rare): VIP-only or Pro+ only
How long until the replay is live
Typically 1-2 weeks post-event. Production cleanup (intros, transitions, basic edits) takes time. Larger events with more speakers take longer.
Most speakers can request a clip of just their own slot for personal use (sharing on LinkedIn, embedding in their newsletter). Submit the request through Stage Portal after the event.
Sharing your replay
Once your slot is live as an episode on your profile, you can:
- Share the profile URL on LinkedIn / X / your newsletter
- Embed the video on your website (replay platform supports embedding)
- Add to your One Sheet’s featured episodes
- Reference it in pitches to future speaking opportunities
Removing your replay
If you need a replay removed (e.g. you said something you regret, or your career has shifted dramatically), email support. We’ll consider on a case-by-case basis. Removal is rare — once published, content typically stays.
