The Smile Channel offers a clear, simple refund window across all paid plans. This article covers exactly how it works and the thinking behind it.
The refund window
7 days from initial purchase, on all paid plans — Starter, Pro, and VIP.
Within those 7 days, you can request a full refund for any reason. After 7 days, refunds are not guaranteed.
Why 7 days specifically
A week is enough time to honestly evaluate the platform. You can:
- Set up your profile fully
- Upload your books and connect social links
- Generate your One-Sheet (Pro+) and look at it
- See how your profile appears in the guest grid
- Test the booking buttons (Pro+) with a sample link
- Check whether the platform feels like a fit for your work
If after a week the platform isn’t what you expected, refund. If it is, the next steps are about using it well over months and years.
Earlier versions of the policy had different windows for different tiers. We simplified to one rule because it’s fairer to everyone and easier to explain. Same window applies whether you’re on Starter or VIP.
How to request a refund
- Email
support@thesmilechannel.comfrom the address on your account - Subject: “Refund request”
- Include your account email + a brief reason (helps us improve)
Most refund requests are processed within 3-5 business days. Refunds go back to the original payment method.
The value framing
The 7-day window protects you from making a bad decision under uncertainty. But it also reflects something we believe about the platform: most members who upgrade discover the value within their first week. The One-Sheet alone often pays for the first year of Pro the first time you send it to an event organizer.
If you’re hesitating because you’re unsure whether to commit, you don’t need certainty — you just need a week of honest evaluation. The 7-day window is built for that.
What’s NOT refundable
- Subscriptions past the 7-day window
- Renewals (each new billing period starts a fresh 7-day window for that period — but the renewal itself isn’t refundable just because the original purchase was)
- Annual plans more than 7 days after initial purchase
Why renewals don’t reset the window
Otherwise members could keep getting full refunds every cycle, which doesn’t work for anyone long-term. The refund window applies to the FIRST purchase — your initial decision to commit. Renewals are continuations, not new decisions.
Annual plans
Annual plans have the same 7-day refund window as monthly plans. After that, no refund — but you can still cancel future renewals at any time, and your access continues until the end of the year you’ve paid for.
Affiliate commission impact
If you got someone to upgrade and earned a commission on it, then they refund within their 7-day window — the commission gets cancelled (since their plan was refunded). This is covered in the affiliate articles.
