When you submit a review, it shows up in three places. This article explains the linking and what each surface looks like.
1. The author’s profile
Your review appears under the relevant book on the author’s profile page. Visitors browsing the author see your review with:
- Your star rating
- Your review headline (the one-line summary)
- The full review text
- Your name + your reader badge
- A link to your profile
If multiple reviews exist for the same book, they’re displayed newest first.
2. Your dashboard
Your “Your Book Reviews” tab lists every review you’ve submitted, with the current status (Pending / Approved / Needs revision / Rejected). Hover any row for the full review text.
3. The public Reader Leaderboard
Your aggregate stats — total reviews, current badge, ranking — appear on the public Reader Leaderboard at thesmilechannel.com/reader-leaderboard/. Individual reviews aren’t surfaced here, just the totals.
Reviews are NOT anonymous to the public. Your name and badge are shown so authors and other readers can see who said what. This is intentional — accountability raises quality.
What if I want to remove my name?
You can’t review anonymously. If you don’t want a review attached to your name, don’t submit it. Once submitted and approved, the only way to remove the name attachment is to delete the entire review (which we cover in the next article).
