I'm Carey McLean, founder of The App Chicks, an independent studio that builds custom iPhone, Android and web apps and then helps software companies find buyers with an AI Growth Engine.
I've been a software engineer for 26 years. I started in telecom software, moved into pre-sales and solutions engineering, and founded The App Chicks in 2011. I built and shipped the PullTab Trading app on the App Store and Google Play, and I wrote the streaming platform behind my own trading business.
Today I work with small software founders on the part nobody teaches: getting the product in front of buyers. I'm also launching The Next Release, a podcast about what founders are building next, the patterns they see in their industry, and the challenges they worked through to get where they are.
I live in California and love meeting people who build things.
