About
Libby Dalcamo Harris has never been particularly interested in staying in one lane.
She is an author, wife, entrepreneur, CEO, publishing strategist, sports performance expert, mom, soon-to-be grandmother, and lifelong believer that it's never too late to figure out what you want to do next—and then GO DO IT.
As CEO of Strategic Book Advisors, Libby works with entrepreneurs, executives, professionals, and experts to turn what they know into what they're known for. Her approach to publishing goes far beyond putting a book on Amazon. She believes a strategically created book can become one of the most powerful authority assets in a person's business—opening doors to clients, speaking engagements, media opportunities, partnerships, and entirely new possibilities.
Her passion for helping people capture and share what they know is backed by an equally eclectic career of her own.
A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in Exercise Science, Libby is a Certified Nutrition Counselor and Certified Mental Toughness Coach. She has worked in Division I collegiate sports performance and nutrition and is a former Titleist Certified Golf Fitness Professional. Her professional adventures have also included education, instructional design, corporate work—and even thirteen years as a licensed private investigator.
Because apparently one career was never going to be enough.
Libby's background in athletics and performance ultimately led her to create Tough Teen Athletes, where she combines sports science, nutrition, mental performance, and firsthand experience as the mother of a Division I athlete to help young athletes—and their parents—navigate the physical and mental demands of competitive sports. She is the author of multiple Tough Teen Athletes books covering mental toughness, mental training, physical training, sports nutrition, affirmations, and performance tracking.
But sports are only one shelf of Libby's author life.
Under the pen name Lou Daneri, she has written cocktail books celebrating another subject she takes quite seriously: a properly made drink. Her cocktail/mocktail writing combines recipes, entertaining, history, and the belief that life is considerably more interesting when there's something good in the glass.
And then there's Nitro.
Libby's 116-pound rescue dog has inspired his own collection of books, written under the pen name Ellie Barkley, and has somehow managed to become both a literary muse and an unofficial member of management. Nitro shares the Harris household with two cats, Fuzzy and Buffy, who would likely dispute his executive authority.
At the center of all of Libby's work is curiosity.
She's fascinated by what people know, what they've learned the hard way, what they're capable of becoming, and what happens when someone decides they aren't finished yet. It's also the philosophy behind her newest role as podcast host, where she talks with fascinating people about what they've learned, what they're building, and what they want to be known for.
Because Libby believes the most interesting people aren't done yet. They still have something to create, something to say, and wisdom worth sharing.
That philosophy applies to her own life as much as anyone else's.
After being laid off at 60, Libby didn't decide it was time to slow down.
She decided it was time to build.
Today, she's growing businesses, writing books, helping other people create theirs, launching new ideas, preparing to become a grandmother—and undoubtedly thinking about at least three things she hasn't told anyone about yet.
And through all of it, Nitro continues to provide "adult" supervision. AKA- he's too BIG to ignore!
